RS-R
RS*R is working testament that dreams do become a reality. Takeo Hayashi, began the RS*R journey back in 1970 with the establishment of a small tuning house in Kyoto, Japan. It was 1980 when Hayashi-san decided to make the transition from performance shop, to a high performance product manufacturing plant. Through hard work, and a little luck, 1980 was the year Hayashi-san introduced Racing Studio-R, or RS*R, to the world.

RS*R also participates in a wide variety of Motorsports throughout the world. RS*R's influence can be found in road racing, drag racing and rally racing events in all parts of the world. RS*R is also very active in numerous drifting events both in Japan and in the US. RS*R is the proud overall winner of the 1997 JGTC300 series, with Manabu Orido piloting the RS*R S14. RS*R's victory in the JGTC300 series is remarkable considering 1997 was the only year that RS*R ever competed in the series.

RS*R today is world renowned for the high quality suspension and exhaust products. With products ranging from the classic design of the ExMag exhaust system, to innovative Ti2000 suspension kits, RS*R has definitely made its mark in the automotive industry. RS*R is currently the leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension kits in Japan.

RS*R has been building exhausts for a very long time. This history is apparent in each of the high quality exhaust systems that are produced. Still produced by hand, the level of quality assurance is at a level second to none. RS*R exhausts can be described in many ways, but we like to call it art.

RS*R exhausts are made from a combination of 409 stainless steel and 304 stainless steel in both the polished and non-polished form. GT2 exhaust tips are all laser cut, to ensure that we get a perfect look, every time. All RS*R exhausts are designed for proper fitment and then tested on the in-house dyno to ensure maximum power gains.  The ExMag mufflers can feature one of three designs: straight, looped and chambered. Each ExMag application is tested, and the best muffler design is chosen for the final production model.

Being the #1 spring manufacturer in Japan requires the use of the most sophisticated machines to make these springs. Many companies manufacture their springs using a technique called cold winding. While cold winding is still very popular and very capable in many different types of spring designs, it is not the best. RS*R is the only company to make aftermarket springs using a technique called, "high frequency induction heating," on a one of a kind machine, only found in RS*R's factory. You can read more about this in the downloadable technical documents below. Imagine the spring manufacturing process like this: Cold winding is like taking a wire hanger and trying to wind it into a spring, very difficult. Take that same wire, and heat it to make the wire easier to wind. There is a lot more that goes into the manufacturing of our springs, and this is all found in our downloadable documents.
